The Chronic Dev Team has hoped to settle down all the hype surrounding iPad 2 jailbreak release in a detailed blogpost. The team has also given updates on Greenpois0n RC6.2 release for jailbreaking iOS 4.3.x.
iPad 2 owners are desperately waiting to jailbreak iPad 2 and for all we've seen till now, is a fake iPad 2 jailbreak. Previously, p0sixninja of the Chronic Dev Team challenged George Hotz to dump the iPad 2 A5 bootrom faster than he can. When that happened, people expected an iPad 2 jailbreak release to take no more than one or two weeks. However, that has not been the case, and the team explains why:
"As I’m sure many people have heard, Josh (posixninja) has recently been quoted saying the iPad 2 jailbreak is coming in “weeks”, I know I have been very publicly abrasive and non-commital on giving any kind of timeframe or comment on this matter, but at the behest of Josh (in conjunction with his need for a swift kick to the ass for motivation) we’re ALL going to hold him to that!!! I’m not going to get into extensive detail about this, but what I will say one of the missing puzzle pieces may have reared its head and cast a glance in our direction… take from that what you will."
As far as jailbreaking iOS 4.3.x using Greenpois0n is concerned, the team clarifies that they've had their sights set on iPad 2 jailbreak for long and have not worked on implementing that in a new version of Greenpois0n. However, Greenpois0n RC6.2 which may be release "soon" will bring the ability to jailbreak iOS 4.3.x using Greenpois0n.
